Emily has more than sixteen years of experience in state and local government and non-profit organizations. With expertise in coalition building, public policy, and strategic communication, she has worn the title of advocate at every level of government. Emily served as an aide in the Ohio Governor’s Office of Appalachia, an aide in the Governor’s Washington, D.C. Office, and as a Legislative Service Commission Fellow in the Ohio Senate. Emily was Cuyahoga County’s first-ever Special Assistant for Regional Collaboration where she coordinated collaboration among the area’s 59 communities and led the County’s state and federal lobbying efforts. She also served as the Director of Communications to two Cuyahoga County Executives, managing media relations, marketing, internal communications as well as acting as County Spokeswoman. Most recently, Emily worked as the Director of Strategy for the George Gund Foundation and Senior Program Director for Enterprise Community Partners. Emily also built and directed the Lead Safe Cleveland Coalition, a public-private coalition to address and prevent the crisis of childhood lead poisoning. Emily brings significant federal, state and local government expertise to G2G.
